Volume 2: Last story today!

By |

Later today we’ll publish the 50th and final story of Significant Objects, Volume 2 (SO v2), proceeds from which will be donated to 826 National.

What comes after Volume 2? Well, you can probably guess, but more on that next week. Speaking of next week, instead of publishing stories we’ll have an interesting surprise or two to keep you entertained while the Volume 2 auctions wind down. (Keep bidding!)

Readers: What was your favorite story in Volume 2? Do you wish you’d bid on/won one object in particular? What should Significant Objects add, subtract, or do differently in the future? We’d love to know your thoughts.

  1. The writing was, on the whole, of a high caliber.

Having said that, one of my favorite pieces was Debbie Millman’s globe paperweight story. The personal touch of a handwritten note added another layer of tangible significance to the object. If this strategy had been used across the board, would the objects have sold for more?

Another comment: I loved the way the pieces donated from the Underwater New York group were displayed and photographed in their natural setting. A really good picture can sell an item.
